Vincent’s Tale
The Vincent’s Tale cycle continues Ren Gill’s journey through empathy, madness, and creation. Where the Bardcore Trilogy reimagined Shakespeare, this series steps into Van Gogh’s light — exploring what it means to make art from suffering. Each chapter stands alone, but together they form a portrait of the artist as both witness and wound.
The cycle opens with Sunflowers, a golden elegy for innocence and empathy; continues with Self Portrait, a confrontation between artist and system; and will evolve into new works still hidden within Ren’s vault. Themes of mental health, guilt, forgiveness, and transcendence spiral through each composition, reflecting Vincent Van Gogh’s own emotional landscapes.
Prologue: Sunflowers
A London elegy painted in gold. Sunflowers transforms grief into art and violence into empathy. The first beam of light in the Vincent cycle.
